A fatal accident occurred at TF Davao Check point in Sirawan, Toril District, Davao City, the Philippines. A pedicab (rickshaw) with two people on board collided head on with a Metro Shuttle bus and instantly turned into a fireball. Both men died upon impact and were thrown out of the vehicle as it caught fire.
One CCTV video, which shows the fireball pedicab disintegrating as it rolled off the road, was released soon after the accident happened. It did not show the moment of impact, so people laid blame on the bus driver, claiming that he was speeding.
Later on, a different angle view CCTV video was released. That one showed the moment of impact and in it the pedicab clearly decides to cut across the oncoming lane to get to the other side, possibly thinking that he would make it before the bus gets to him. He didn’t. The bus was probably speeding too, but the pedicab rider was the one who caused all this.
